The feeling of accomplishment that comes with finishing filming is both satisfying and exhilarating, marking a step forward in our f

Music and losing my mind

Editing 101

My partner has taken charge of the editing process for our comedy horror movie project, showcasing her expertise in this area. While I am eager to contribute and assist in any way possible, I trust in her skills and knowledge as she navigates the intricacies of editing. Her confidence and proficiency in editing have instilled a sense of assurance in me, allowing me to focus on other aspects of our film production. Finishing filming

Image
After a session of filming, we managed to capture some successful scenes for our comedy horror movie project. The responsibility of editing the footage falls to my partner, who will be handling that aspect of the post-production process. Despite our efforts, the search for another actress proved fruitless, leading to a decision where I had to step in and portray multiple roles. In the absence of an additional actress, I took on the characters of the waitress, the woman, and the man in our film. This unexpected turn of events presented a unique challenge but also an exciting opportunity to showcase my acting skills in a variety of roles. The flexibility and adaptability required to switch between these characters added an extra layer of complexity to our project. As we move forward with the editing phase, the diverse roles I portrayed will bring a distinct flavor to the initial minutes of our movie. The experience of embodying different characters within the same film has been both da

My first filming blog

Image
As a high school student, my partner and I are working on a short comedy horror film project for a class assignment. We're focusing on shooting just the initial two minutes of our film, aiming for a captivating start. Our filming location of choice is the mall, and we've scheduled it for this upcoming Saturday. The challenge lies in the tight timeframe, as I'll need to rush to work four hours after we wrap up filming. One major obstacle we're encountering is the need to cast another actress for a crucial role in the movie. Despite our efforts in spreading the word, the perfect fit for the role still eludes us. We remain hopeful that we'll secure the ideal actress before the scheduled shoot this weekend. It's essential for the success of our project that we find the right person to bring our character to life. The pressure is on to finalize the casting before we hit the mall set. We're excited about the potential of our film, and we're determined to ove

Finding Props

Image
Hi! Welcome back to my blog! In case you forgot, it’s Jenna. Today I’m talking about the trying process of finding props. My partner and I have really struggled with this. We’ve been really overwhelmed recently. As juniors, we have the SAT coming up. This has caused so much additional stress. We’ve started planning props. I plan to take two white sugar packets from the food court at the mall. For the arsenic, we’ve planned something similar. We plan to use sugar as well for the arsenic. However, this time we plan to put it into a blender. This will created powdered sugar. We will then put this in a jar, which we will label arsenic. Hopefully it makes a passing resemblance. We optimistic it will. Thanks so much for reading! Have a wonderful day!

Earnest Scared Stupid Title Research

Image
-What titles are displayed during the opening sequences? Producers, cast, title of movie, music supervisor, editors, production designers, photography, etc. - What images are prioritized in the opening sequence? Tons of black and white scary scenarios and then there's Ernest reacting to them putting the title in full effect. - How does the film establish a feeling of the genre from the outset? It gives off a silly supposedly scary vibe. It does so by the sounds being all over the place like a circus. Then the font is also not consistent in a way. Some of it is blocky and white, drippy and red, white and looks jagged like lightening, and the other one is orange somewhat drippy and jagged. (Art of The Title)

The Invisible Man Title Resaerch

-What titles are displayed during the opening sequences? Producers, cast, title of movie, editors, production designers, photography, etc. - What images are prioritized in the opening sequence? It's mostly the ocean and waves. At the beginning there was a scary little girl in a white dress and a floating chair. - How does the film establish a feeling of the genre from the outset? It doesn't automatically present a horror atmosphere because it lacked imagery. It does present how the title comes into play though. They made waves of the water 'fall upon' the words and they magically appeared after the wave splashed. Putting a play on the words invisible man. (Art of The Title)

Production Blog: General Prep

Image
Hello, it’s Jenna! This is my first Production blog for my movie. Unfortunately I was hit by a mirage of assignments. This means I will have Postpone production for about a week when I can comfortably take my sleep at night. I have also hadn’t gotten a chance to go shopping for my costume for the movie. My partner Janae is going to be the main producer of the video. this is because she has impeccable taste, and is more sure of what to do for this assignment then I. We have decided to start next Monday due to the fact that he was early release. However, we still need volunteer actors to play in our film, and we are struggling to find those. I am planning to ask my friends I have the next Class. I am struggling a bit to do my production blog because I have tests to study for, and homework to do, and with that it’s hard to stay focused. We are going to do a jokey horror movie . I wanted to do something a little bit different however Janine’s insistent that she has her vision so I went
